  • Release date: May 2017

Marvel’s Invisible Woman has been out since this past summer and has kicked off the Walgreen’s exclusive Fantastic Four figures. With news coming out of Hascon 2017 this past weekend, we should be seeing the next installment of the FF series in Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch. Hascon 2017 also brought announcements for Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic and Medusa as Walgreens exclusives. Before we get hyped about the upcoming figures let’s take a look at Marvel’s Invisible Woman. The first thing we noticed on this figure is the awesome aqua blue suit that Susan Storm is sporting. The body tight suit design is similar to her current look in comics, which has stayed pretty consistent over the years. In terms of accessories for her, she comes with an additional left invisible hand to accentuate her force field generating powers and invisibility.  The head sculpt for Susan Storm is a brand new design, unlike any of the current Marvel Legends line-up. The great thing is that it’s not a re-build or re-tool of any current heroes on the line. We’re not sure if this is where Hasbro decided to start using the new face scanning design but it looks awesome. The proportions of her face are on point and those crystal blue eyes really give her that unique look. Although these figures are not build-a-figures she does come with her own personal sidekick: H.E.R.B.I.E. which stands for Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-Type, Integrated electronics. Said to have been the replacement of Johnny Storm in the 1978 Fantastic Four cartoon, H.E.R.B.I.E. became the fourth member of the Fantastic Four animated series. He eventually made his way into comic continuity in Fantastic Four #209.  The art box for this series is beautiful, showcasing Susan Storm using some of her invisibility shield. This series is a great figure to display in box or out of box and is sure to be a collector’s item for any Marvel Legends fan. The Fantastic Four have been Marvel’s First family for decades and it’s about time that these heroes received a reboot from the old Marvel Legends ToyBiz days. Susan Storm aka Invisible Woman is still available on the Walgreens website, if you have not purchased her for your collection yet. Stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled for the next release, The Human Torch, set to hit Walgreens stores sometime this fall. There have already been sightings and postings in Canada so it’s only a matter of time before the figure starts to hit local stores.
